Team Callenza!

God morgon! :) Fredag!!

// Good morning! Friday!! I’m having breakfast right now, I just took a shower to wash off the paint from my spraytan. I slept in a duvet cover so that we wouldn’t get paint in the entire bed, smart! I’m really happy with the color as usual, Jenny gives us spraytan every other week and she’s the best! I’m gonna go down to the studio around ten. First all the couples have rehearsal together with our swing marathon (ahh that will be so much fun!!) and after that we have our own rehearsal with our rumba, where we get to do our dance 3 times together with the band. I’m a bit nervous because they’ve changed the lyrics in our song, so I’m really scared that I’m gonna mix up the steps haha.. I was so nervous last night that I felt sick. It’s better now though.. I hope you’re with us!! ♥

I read your blog regularly, as well as the blogs of some other Swedish fashion/make-up bloggers, and I’ve noticed that in general you’re all fond of spray tans, or better yet you’re fond of tans (from spray or natural). I find it interesting that people who are naturally fair skinned want to be tanned when other people, who might be fair but not quite as fair, use all sorts of methods to lighten their skin. Do notice that I’m not talking about racism or about people who are naturally dark skinned trying to be white. I’m talking about much of the Western world’s obsession with being tanned while in other parts of the world, such as in Eastern Asia, people generally dislike tans and in many cases lighten their skin.

I myself am fair skinned but have Mediterranean tones, meaning my skin is light but yellow/golden, and I find the fair skin of Northern Europeans to be very beautiful. And yet it seems quite a few of those people try to have skin that looks more like mine. Anyway, I’m not trying to say one type of skin tone is better than the other, just that I find cultural differences interesting and that the “grass is always greener on the other side”.
